Exploring Materials

Linda - I have taken pictures of 10 things beginning with S and annalysed their materials.
Soap Bottle; made out of- plastic. Size - 3 x 7". Texture - Sticky, hard, smooth, curvy.

Statue/Sculpture; made out of - stone. Size - 2 x 6.4". Texture - sharp on backs of people and sides, smooth, thin, circular, flat on bottom.


Sock; made out of - cotton. Size - 3 x 12". Texture - soft, bumpy, flexible, stretchy.


Sewing box; made out of - padding, material. Size - 7 x 9.5 x 5". Texture - padded on lid, hard on light blue parts, solid, light on flowy parts round edge.


Saucepan; made out of - steel?, wood, metal. Size - 7 x 13 x 3". Texture - cold, smooth, handle rough, knobly silver part.


Scissors; made out of - steel and plastic. Size - 3 x 6.5". Texture - sharp, smoot, a bit rough plastic yet smooth.



Screwdriver; made out of - rubber, plastic, metal. Size - 1.7 x 8.5. Texture - bumpy, rough, edgy, smooth, sharp.



String; made out of - wool. Size - 2.5 x 32". Texture - itchy, rough, hard, furry.


Sponge; made out of - sponge. Size - 5 x 5 x 2". Texture - very rough on top, smooth on bottom, squidgy, ditches.


Sweets wrapper; made out of - plastic foil. Size -3.7 x 4". Texture - crinkly, rough, smooth in some parts, shiny, bendy sharp at corner and sides.
Pick one of these 10 pictures. Look at the information about it. Without reading the title of what the object is, draw a picture using all of the desciption to create a new object. Take a picture of the drawing or scan it.
